My Breeding loft

My breeding loft is built on the best of the real pure Aarden pigeons.

At the start I bought from Lajos Obendorfer in Leeuwarden (Later Ferwerd) the pure van Geel pigeons, descendants of the "Dolle" and "Vlekje". De ancestor of my loft Obie 88 comes direct from the loft of Mr.Obendorfer. 

Mr.Obendorfer was a real pigeonbreeder. He bought the best pigeons on public sales. Mostly for a lot of money. Further he sold the youngsters of these top pigeons and with the money he bought again new top pigeons and so on. He was a real Aarden lover and he really enjoy himself with his van Geel pigeons. He was owner of a brother of the "Dolle", a son of the "Lange" and a son of "Vlekje". These pigeons gave him a lot of pleasure and many fanciers got successful with descendants of these pigeons. Because of my friendship with Mr.Obendorfer I could become pigeons from the best he had. Till he died in 1999 I came almost every week two times to his house to talk about pigeons and in the winter we discussed many hours about how to put the breeding pigeons together to breed better and more pure Aarden pigeons. He was a really special and honest friend.

In 1992 I bought a son of the "Perpignan" of Wijnakker from Doede v/d Veen. Doede gave me the advice to couple this fadedcock with a good hen from a top loft. He told me to buy a hen from Wim Muller Wilhelminadorp; a daughter from his "First Lady". The "First Lady" won 1st National Perpignan 1989, she was also 1st International hen. Doede made the first contact for me, after that I phoned him myself and I made an appointment to visit him together with Doede. After a warm welcome I could choose out of two hens, both daughters from the First Lady. After long weigh and weigh I finally have made my choice. Eventually I choose for the NL 90.2604041 Miss Rina, together with Obie 88 were they my best breeding couple for many years.  Also I get two eggs from Wim. I have kept regular contact with Wim Muller and a friendly link have arisen. The year after my first visit I went back to buy another 12 eggs. Coupled with the "Vale Perpignan" and the van Geel pigeons it gave me the first successes on the long-distance races. Not only his pigeons but also the telephone recommendations of Wim helped me enormously. In the following years I went several times back to Wim to get more pigeons and I also borrowed some of his pigeons for breeding. Considering the fact that the Muller pigeons find their origin from the old Aarden strain, it catches very well with the van Geel pigeons. The result is an exceedingly strong long-distance pigeon with silk-soft feathers, will strength and perseverance. For the distances which they have to overcome to Friesland, you must have pigeons like that. As a recommendation gave Wim me to buy birds from his Barcelona line, because this is the longest distance for him and only with such birds I could succeed in Friesland. The performances of Wim Muller have been known worldwide. Beside his national and international victories is nevertheless the most important he has won the European cup. And he won it not only one time but two times  in 1985, and 1997. He has won everything what there to win is. By the years we kept regular contact and from both sides we have exchanged congratulations with the gained successes. For me he is the best Long distance fancier on the ZLU races in Europe. Everything what I have achieved, is also thanks to Wim Muller and his family.

In 2004 I have bought about 12 youngsters from national top fancier Gradje Roeffen and son from Grubbenvorst. The youngsters I bought were from their best breedingcouples. Two children from his "119". The "119" was in 1999 9th ace pigeon long-distance racing of the Netherlands and in 2001 2nd ace pigeon long-distance racing of the Netherlands. Also from a son "340" The "Magic Dolle", Magic Dolle"" was a direct from M. van Geel  Nieuw-Vossemeer. A real superb breedingcock at Sjouke Duinstra's loft from Noordbergum. Later, this pigeon became the most important line on the loft of Gradje Roeffen. The main part of the pigeons I bought in 2006 by Doede v/d Veen are also descendants of the "Magic Dolle". Doede had bought this cock on the total sale of Sjouke Duinstra at Noordbergum. Dick Postma from Leeuwarden has introduced me by Gradje Roeffen. The first youngsters from these birds are from 2005 and the results are hopeful. In the future I expect a lot from these birds.

In 2006 I got the chance to buy the total collection Aarden/van Geel pigeons from Doede v/d Veen. Fantastic birds were in these collection and VERY SPECIAL, also two direct sons from the famous "Vlekje"  from van Geel and  also about 38 grandchildren of "Vlekje". All together it were about 70 pigeons. It was a huge investment but I tought I will never get a chance like this again and I couldn't let this go. A very rare collection of pigeons. The real Aarden pigeons with golden-,green- and chestnut eyes silk-soft feathers and amazing strong built. I expect a lot from these pigeons in combination with my Wim Muller pigeons.
